起初推测这个毫米波雷达是做DMS的,后来看到特斯拉向FCC的申请文件才知道不是。在第一次的申请文件里,特斯拉是这么描述这个毫米波雷达用途的,Tesla indicates that its device would be focused on the vehicle interior for applications such as child presence detection and seatbelt reminders; however, Tesla states that the device may be able to scan up to 2 meters (approximately 6 feet) outside of the vehicle, to provide vehicle security benefits such as detecting a broken window or a vehicle intrusion. 第一个用途是检测有没有婴儿或小孩遗忘在车内,第二个用途是安全带提醒,第三个用途是检测有人砸窗偷车内财物,还有潜在的用途,特斯拉没有明说,包括DMS辅助和手势识别。
