Yin Yong, deputy secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee and mayor, said that the layout and development of these companies in Beijing are closely related to Beijing's high-level autonomous driving projects. In the past few years, Beijing has conducted in-depth research on the development of autonomous driving technology. Through comparative analysis, it was found that although the current bicycle autonomous driving technology is developing rapidly, the cost is still relatively high, and there is still a long way to go before safe and reliable commercial applications. distance. At the same time, it seems that there is currently no connection between the intelligentization of bicycles and the intelligent development of our cities.

Therefore, Beijing took the lead in adopting the vehicle-road collaborative technology route three years ago to promote the development of autonomous driving technology. Taking the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone as the starting point, an area of ​​60 square kilometers was designated for the pilot. It was gradually promoted to an area of ​​600 square kilometers. The pilot has now entered the third stage.

"We are planning a larger-scale construction to connect concentrated contiguous areas such as Pingyuan New City. These promotion and applications have brought unexpected results." Yin Yong gave an example of the automatic shuttle service opened at Daxing Airport, which provides better night-time services. Arriving passengers are provided with more choices; unmanned sanitation vehicles can clean at night rain or shine, without fear of fatigue or dozing off; unmanned taxis provide passengers with better privacy space, and some passengers arrange meetings during the ride …

In addition, through the construction of the roadside sensing system, we have a better perception of the traffic flow at the intersection. In the past, the signal light timing method at these intersections was relatively fixed. Now in the test area, the setting of this changing method for each intersection on average every day will be based on the The actual traffic flow on the road is dynamically adjusted 110 times. Taking the 160 square kilometers of the Economic and Technological Development Zone as an example, on the basis of a 20% increase in traffic flow last year, the vehicle speed increased by more than 15%. This provides us with useful exploration to solve urban traffic congestion problems through traffic light dispatch optimization.
