At today's press conference titled "Together in Beauty, Striking a New Chord: Audi and SAIC Ascend to a New Stage of Cooperation," SAIC Group and Audi AG jointly announced that following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for deepening strategic cooperation in July last year, the two parties have officially signed a cooperation agreement. They will jointly develop several high-end intelligent electric vehicles for SAIC Audi and collaborate on the development of the Advanced Digitized Platform. Audi AG boasts strong capabilities in defining high-end vehicle products, vehicle development, and engineering technology; SAIC Group leads in intelligent electric innovation technology. Through this cooperation, the two sides will work together to "empower with technology" SAIC Audi, fully supporting the joint venture brand to sprint ahead on the new track and seize new opportunities.
The two parties are integrating their respective strengths to jointly develop a series of subsequent electric vehicle models. The first product is expected to officially hit the market in 2025. By enhancing research and development efficiency and optimizing the development process, the speed of research and development will be accelerated. The new models will be equipped with top-of-the-industry hardware and software, boasting world-class electric performance, as well as a smoother and more user-friendly intelligent interaction experience.
SAIC focuses on the construction of core competitiveness and strives to develop new intelligent electric vehicles. With a ten-year focus, SAIC has successfully built three internationally leading vehicle platforms and four key systems, as well as seven technological bases. This has provided strong technical support for independent innovation and actively empowered domestic and joint venture brands with technology.
In recent years, the global automotive industry is rapidly entering a brand new era of electrification and intelligence. Both domestic and foreign automakers are facing immense challenges of innovation transformation and sustainable development. From "technology import" to "technology export", as China's automotive industry joint ventures enter a new stage, there is hope that China and Germany can establish a broader and deeper mutually beneficial and win-win cooperative relationship in the future, jointly explore new business markets, jointly build new core competencies, and jointly create a new mobility lifestyle.
