The 2024 First China (Chongqing) Smart Car Basic Software Ecosystem Conference and the Third China Automotive Chip Summit Forum were successfully held in Chongqing

From June 17th to 18th, the 2024 First China (Chongqing) Smart Car Basic Software Ecosystem Conference and the Third China Automotive Chip Summit Forum were grandly held in Chongqing. This conference aims to build a high-end and pragmatic professional exchange platform for the development of my country's automotive software and chip industry, share innovation results, build an open source, open and innovative industrial ecosystem, and promote high-quality development of the automotive industry.

This event is hosted by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission, co-sponsored by China Electronics Technology Group Co., Ltd., Puhua Basic Software Co., Ltd., China Electronics Chip Technology Research Institute, and Western Science City Intelligent Connected Vehicles It is co-organized by the Innovation Center and hosted by the Western Science City Chongqing High-tech Zone Management Committee. With the theme of "Building a shared foundation and setting sail for open source", the conference gathered more than 500 experts, scholars and business representatives from government, industry, academia, research, application and other fields to focus on vehicle operating systems, automotive chips, software and hardware collaboration , open source and other industry hot and key topics were discussed in depth.

At the meeting, relevant leaders of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and Deputy Director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council Gou Ping, Director of the Information Technology Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Wang Yanqing, Chairman of China Electronics Technology Group Wang Haibo, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers Fu Bingfeng delivered speeches respectively. Ni Guangnan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech on "Open Source RISC-V Promotes the Development of New Productivity".

At the meeting, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government and China Electronics Technology Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement and reached a consensus on in-depth cooperation. The two parties will implement a high-level cooperation and consultation mechanism, take technological innovation as the source of power, and focus on building industrial clusters such as integrated circuits, intelligent connected vehicles, and new generation mobile communications in the southwest region of the country, carry out top-level design and top-level promotion, and promote the cooperation between the two parties in the direction of A wider field, a deeper level, and a higher level.

The meeting also launched the Chongqing ceremony of Puhua Basic Software (Chongqing) Co., Ltd., Puhua Automotive Control Software and Hardware Collaborative Design Center, Puhua Automotive Control Operating System and Chip Adaptation Center. The establishment of these three institutions will take a substantial step forward for automotive chips and software to better collaborate with OEMs to build a development and application ecosystem and address the challenges of cost reduction, speed improvement, and efficiency improvement. In addition, the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and Puhua Basic Software joined hands with more than 10 vehicle and chip companies such as China FAW, Dongfeng Motor, and Changan Automobile to launch an open source co-construction ceremony to jointly light up the "China Automotive Operating System" Open Source Co-construction Plan" announced that the EasyAda "龘" microkernel project passed the TOC review of the Open Atom Open Source Foundation and became a foundation incubation preparatory project. It also announced the launch of the "Xiaoman" safe car control operating system project. This is the first large-scale, mass-produced open source safety vehicle control operating system in China following the release of the EasyAda "龘" microkernel open source project in May 2023.

At the event, the Open Atom Open Source Foundation and the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission jointly announced the official launch of the second Open Atom Open Source Competition-Automotive Software Open Source Competition.

A number of industry experts and business leaders from Changan Automobile, Puhua Basic Software, Beidou Zhilian Technology Co., Ltd., and National Core Technology delivered keynote speeches to provide new ideas for the development of Chongqing's intelligent networked new energy vehicle industry. Lv Yi, Chairman of China Electronics Taiji and Chairman of Puhua Basic Software, believes that in terms of product competitiveness differentiation, car companies compete more at the application layer. At the basic software level, open source should be used to create automotive applications for the entire industry. The operating system platform, its open source "Xiaoman" product, embodies Puhua Basic Software's sixteen years of experience. As of the end of 2023, it has achieved large-scale mass production of more than 17 million units, which has been fully verified by the market and has reached the internationally advanced level.

During the forum of the conference, a number of industry expert representatives from China Electronics Technology Group, Cyrus, Galaxy Connect, Magneti Marelli China and Wutong Automobile Alliance held discussions around the theme "The Road to the Future, Vision and Trends of Automotive Software Open Source Ecosystem" and jointly prepared for Promote the construction of an open source ecosystem for automotive software and make suggestions.

At the same time as the conference, two major theme forums, the Automotive Operating System Open Source Co-construction Forum and the 3rd China Automotive Chip Summit Forum, were also held, and a number of important research results and industry consensus were released at the forum.
